For a handful of years, between 2010-2015, my husband and I owned a beautiful vintage Airstream travel trailer (pictured above on a crabbing trip on the Oregon Coast).
Don’t quote me on this but I believe it was from 1976. But I do know it was Sovereign Land Yacht.
The point of this isn’t about the Airstream but the fact that up until about a year ago, I didn’t know what the word sovereign, or sovereignty, really meant. I knew the definition, but I didn’t understand the energetics of it; what it symbolized.
And now it probably ranks as one of the topmost common words I use in my personal language.
(My nutrition clients are probably sick of me reminding them of their sovereignty to make choices that they see fit when it comes to their nutritional needs. Lol.)
Sovereign, by definition, means supreme power or authority.
But as I just pointed out, and I believe this to be true for everyone, you have the sovereignty – the supreme personal power and authority- to CHOOSE how you do the things you do (or to not do them if that’s the appropriate course of action).
You get to choose to get up and go to work. You get to choose your career. You get to choose your employer. You get to choose the clothes you’ll wear. You can choose to take a homemade lunch or eat out. You can choose what route to take and where to park when you arrive. You can choose to work through your breaks or step outside for some fresh air. You can choose to prioritize what gets accomplished first and what can be pushed until later. You can choose to use your time wisely or gossip with Karen in the lunchroom.
You get the idea.
I know you would probably point out there are a few caveats in my workday example, and that might be true in some cases.
However, the reality is, we have more power to choose than we give credit. Every minute of the day, we are given the opportunity of choice.
We are sovereign beings. We are our own supreme power and authority. We have the power of personal choice whether we employ it or not.
And I’m here to remind you of your power.
We can choose to do something and we can also choose how we do it.
We can choose to go to the office feeling disgruntled or grateful. We can choose to prioritize our time to tackle a big project or we can aimlessly check our email 42 times a day.
The uncovering of my own power of choice has had a huge impact on how I approach both life responsibilities and doing things that I was programmed to believe could only be done a certain way. It applies to both how we show up energetically and addresses practical, tangible aspects (the actual doing).
I’ve worked to cultivate practical tools and tactics through mindfulness, prana (breath), and actionable strategies (the core of Aligned Activation!) to apply my supreme power and authority to so many areas of my life Whether it’s how I show up to care for my animals or do dishes, or how I elected to structure my learning experience when I was going through the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program. To choose to do something and CHOOSE how I do it.
I’ll be offering a live Aligned Activation workshop on this exact topic on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 4:44 PM PST. The investment is $44 and will run approximately 44 minutes in length.
Participants will learn more about my discovery of The Power of Choice and how to apply the practice of sovereignty to their own circumstances. The workshop will be delivered in a private Facebook group with unlimited access to the course, video replay, and supporting materials. I’ll also be teaching a powerful prana(yama) practice that can be used in times when making a choice feels challenging.
If reclaiming and integrating your sovereignty into your daily decision-making, and even your bigger life choices, calls to you, I’d love to have you join me. Additional details and registration can be found HERE.
